StenCoat® 2EPV 212 is an epoxy-based, two-component, decorative, transparent floor coating. Its job is to protect the surface beneath it while staying invisible: it self-levels, gives an even appearance, and does not spoil the look of the covering it goes over. It has high abrasion and chemical resistance, standing up to weak acids and bases, detergents, disinfectants, hydraulic oils, many solvents and fuels.
Its enhanced UV resistance reduces color change compared with standard epoxy coatings. Reduces — it does not prevent. The UV-driven color change of epoxy-based coatings is mitigated here, not eliminated; where a genuinely non-yellowing surface is required, water-based StenCoat® 2PUV 401, 402 or 403 must be applied over it as a topcoat. Those varnishes are available in gloss levels from full gloss to full matte.
Areas of Use
StenCoat® 2EPV 212 is applied primarily over StenCoat® seamless floor coatings, improving their chemical resistance and the surface’s slip and abrasion resistance without changing the coating’s appearance.
Beyond that it is used on concrete and metal floors, on mortar-type floor coatings, and over coverings such as wood, tile, granite, marble and natural stone: it covers the cracks and joints in the floor, increasing the durability and extending the life of the covering. It prevents dusting, abrasion, wetting and water permeation of the surface it protects, and increases its resistance to oxidation and soiling. Coated surfaces are easy to clean, dry quickly and do not generate dust.
