StenCoat® 2EP 210G is a two-component, epoxy-based decorative floor paint. It can be used on its own as an economical coating on concrete floors, or applied as a topcoat over StenCoat® floor coating systems. It has high abrasion and chemical resistance, standing up to weak acids and bases, detergents, disinfectants, hydraulic oils, many solvents and fuels.
The G in the product code marks the wider application window: it can be applied at lower ambient temperatures (down to 10 °C) and has a longer working time than the standard type. For crews working in cool weather, or covering a large area in a single pour, that is the difference that matters.
Areas of Use
StenCoat® 2EP 210G is used on concrete and metal floors, and over mortar-type or self-leveling seamless floor coatings, to improve the abrasion, slip and chemical resistance of the surface and to give it a decorative appearance. It is chosen for hygiene in hospitals, restaurants and kitchens; for safety and appearance on wet floors such as pool surrounds and bathrooms; for protection and aesthetics in social facilities and shopping centers; and for floor protection in industrial facilities.
It reduces dusting, wetting and water penetration, and increases the surface’s resistance to soiling and oxidation. It covers the cracks, defects and joints in the floor. Coated surfaces are easy to clean, dry quickly and do not generate dust.
One point to plan for from the outset: epoxy-based coatings may yellow or change color over time when exposed to direct sunlight and UV. For best results, StenCoat® 2PUV 401, 402 or 403 — water-based, and substantially blocking UV rays from reaching the epoxy surface — must be applied as a topcoat. Those varnishes are available in gloss levels from full gloss to full matte.
