StenSeal® 2K is a coal-tar-modified, polyurethane-based, two-component, cold-applied joint sealant. It is elastomeric, cures chemically and self-levels, giving good abrasion resistance and high bond strength.
The commercial logic of the product sits in its coal-tar content: the high proportion of coal tar gives it strong resistance to petrochemicals, and in exchange it is a softer and more economical product. It suits heavy traffic conditions and resists jet fuels, hydraulic fluids, oils and dynamic movement. It is fully resistant to UV. For resistance to jet fuel and de-icing chemicals it meets the requirements of EN 14188-2.
Areas of Use
StenSeal® 2K is designed for airport runways, parking areas, terminals, ramps, cargo yards and service roads.
Beyond that it is a versatile and economical joint sealant for highways under every kind of traffic, car parks, secondary roads, bridge connections, ramps, stadiums, industrial floors, pavements, fuel stations, and the roads and concrete yards of petrochemical and other industrial plants. It suits every kind of horizontal joint in open areas, and can also be used to repair cracks in concrete floors.
